Course Overview :-Child First Aid is designed to provide you with the knowledge and abilities needed to provide first aid to a child and/or infant casualty. The course is conducted in accordance with the standards and procedures outlined by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC). The Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) recognized the course’s accreditation.Participants who successfully complete the course will receive three certifications: BCLS+AED, SFA, and CFA, each valid for two years.
Duration :- 20 hours ( 2 days)

Certification :- Upon successfully completing the course, learners will be awarded with these 3 certificates:

  • CHILD FIRST AID PROVIDER
  • STANDARD FIRST AID PROVIDER
  • BASIC CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT + AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (BCLS + AED) PROVIDERParticipants will receive an e-certificate via email.

  • Early childhood educator (Preschool teachers, childcare professionals)
  • Parents, child caregivers, Domestic helpers, Nannies, and babysitters
  • Individuals who wants to be certified competent in rendering first aid to infant and child.
  • Child First Aid course is a compulsory course for childcare and preschool professionals under the Early Childhood Development Agency’s licensing framework.

Declaration of Medical Conditions
Participants must perform 2 minutes of nonstop chest compressions as part of course assessment requirements, which can be physically demanding.
It is advised to refrain from participating in this course if you:
Have medical ailments such as back pain, knee, joint, or spinal injuries, heart problems, high blood pressure, fainting spells, other physical conditions, other medical disabilities, or if serious diseases are present or have ever been a source of discomfort; o
Are pregnant.
If you decide to continue with the course in spite of prevailing medical conditions, please obtain your doctor’s approval and provide us with a doctor’s letter stating your clearance to participate. Failure to be assessed and subsequently pass the practical component will cause you to fail the course. Course Requirements
  • Physically healthy and able to complete course objectives
  • Able to speak, read and understand English effectively as our courses are conducted in English.
  • Participants are required to have a valid Child First Aid Certificate to be able to participate in this refresher course three months before the expiry date on your existing certificate as the maximum grace period is three months after date of expiry.
Objective
By the end of the course, learners will have the relevant knowledge and
application skills in Child First Aid to apply during an emergency or accident for
adult and infant casualties.
1. Explain the duties and responsibilities of Child First Aid Provider.
2. Perform BCLS+AED effectively on adult unconscious casualties.
3. Perform the relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO)
effectively on adult conscious and unconscious casualties.
4. Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) effectively on infant
unconscious casualties.
5. Perform the relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO)
effectively on infant conscious and unconscious casualties.
6. Apply first aid to adult, child and infant casualties.
7. Manage a medical emergency
Content/Modules

The training syllabus and assessment guidelines meet the minimum standard set by Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council.

Assessment
  • Learners would need to fulfil 100% course attendance in order to be eligible for the assessments.
  • Assessment Outline:

(i) Written Assessment (Up to 3 attempts to pass)
– 50 Multiple Choice Questions (80% to pass, 40/50)
(ii) Practical Assessment (Up to 3 attempts to pass)
-BCLS+AED (includes MTM/BVM with QCPR)
– Bandaging (1 X Bleeding and 1 X Fracture)
– Application of Tourniquet
– Conscious and Unconscious Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (Choking)
– Administration of EpiPen
– Administration of MDI with Spacer
